Registration Dates/General Information
Students who wish to drive their vehicle to school, need to read and be prepared to adhere to the following guidelines for parking in the high school student zoned parking areas. These are the numbered parking spots. All vehicles driven to school and parked on school property must be registered with a parking pass. This pass is to be visible on your rear-view mirror or on your dash in the front window. You may obtain your pass through the High School Office. This applies also to vehicles driven only occasionally.
Student drivers are REQUIRED to park in the designated numbered spot. DO NOT PARK IN ANOTHER STUDENTS SPACE. Park your vehicle in an unnumbered space. Come into the office and report that there is a car in your space. The SRO will notify them and you will be able to move your car back into your numbered spot.
There are only 80 parking spaces with passes available and these are given out on the following days:
- Seniors may secure their parking pass on August 27, 2025. Ms. Houck will be around to homerooms and first period classes. DO NOT come early and DO NOT come to the office. Dual enrollment Seniors ONLY may pick up their passes in the High School Office when they arrive for classes at 10:20AM. Ms. Houck will be in the office waiting. Please have all paperwork completed. Read below.
- Juniors may secure their parking pass on August 28, 2025. Ms. Houck will be around to homerooms and first period classes. DO NOT come early and DO NOT come to the office.
2nd
Come Prepared
Please come prepared with ALL items listed or you will be turned away and your space will NOT be held.
- Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license (paper license from Mancino driving school accepted with date stamp)
- Vehicle registration MUST be up to date.
- Proof of insurance MUST be up to date.
- High school Parking Registration paper (Half-slip) COMPLETELY FILLED OUT student name, home room, grade, name on Registration Card and car details. If driving more than one vehicle both vehicles must have proof of up to date insurance and registration. This form is required and attached to these guidelines.
3rd
Driving to school is a privilege
- Students must be in good academic standing. That means passing all your classes for the year.
- All rules regarding smoking, weapons, drugs, alcohol, etc. which apply in school, also apply in the student parking lot and vehicles parked in the school parking lot.
- Student parking passes are free but can be revoked if the following would occur. Disciplinary action that suspends or expels a student, reckless/ dangerous driving in the parking lot or school grounds, behavior that is not school appropriate while on school property, or does not comply with the driving to school guidelines in the student handbook.
- Do not lose your pass we do not have extras.
- If you get your driver’s license, later in the year come to the high school office to inquire if parking is still available.
Note: The Sharpsville Area School District cannot assume any responsibility for mishaps or damage to vehicles while driven to school or parked on school property.
